|Originally part of a design team hired by Incom, T'achak quickly became bored with his first job as a speeder designer and moved to become a prototype tester. He was good at his job, but he had a habit of taking the prototypes out on joyrides and races against other designs that resulted in a lot of gambling and wrecked vehicles.
Due to his unsavory habits, T'achak moved between various companies, such as Ubrikkian, Aratech, Ikas-Adno and Mobquet. But, his habits would continue to force him into unemployment. Eventually, he ran out of companies to work for, and he worked for some smuggling groups before joining the New Republic. The New Republic did everything they could to place him where he could do the least amount of damage, but it didn't seem to do any good. Finally, they placed him under the command of Lieutenant Page, who assigned T'achak to the Farstar.
T'achak is a cheerful Chadra-Fan that cares about maintaining the repulsorlift vehicles in his care, flying fast and winning bets. He can often be found checking the vehicles to make sure they are in good working condition and making modifications to them to go as fast as possible. As much as he crashes vehicles, he never seems to suffer a major injury by always jumping clear during the crash. He credits his crash helmet (which he never removes) and a modification he calls a "redbutton sissy strap", which is a seat belt or restraint harness that can be released by the pilot with a small explosive charge in case of an emergency.
