Darkstryder adventure: "Death is Remotely Possible"

Colonel Lansel is a pale, morose man with mousy brown hair and a thin face. Although he is a serious man, he likes to exhibit his dry sense of humor and can often be seen covertly taking sips from an etched flask.

It is common knowledge that Lansel had a falling out with Sarne's group some time ago and was stationed on Gandle Ott as a result. When he is drinking (which is quite often), Lansel gives a good share of criticism about Sarne and his followers, and he will warmly welcome the New Republic to the sector.

Now that Gandle Ott is free from Sarne's grip, Lansel feels free to express his negative opinions of Sarne and give his thoughts on what he is really up to (all of them wrong). He wants to return to the Mid-Rim and some meaningful work, but he will likely recall hearing some of Sarne's officers talking of going to Shintel "to pick up the backups," but he will not be clear on their true intentions nor where Shintel is.

Actually, Lansel is one of Sarne's sleeper agents on Gandle Ott, planted to serve the moff. He was activated when Sarne arrived with his fleet, and was instructed to activate the Sarne command files in Cuthbert and make sure the New Republic agents hear about Sarne's intentions to head for Shintel.
