| The Yvarema are a mammalian race that evolved with a hive mind, a rarity considering that most hive intelligences are from insectoid races. Another aspect of the Yvareman hive culture is that no mindless drones exist, and each individual has its own distinct and unique personality like other cultures. However, their intelligence depends on their leader, or Majjvara, and their continued existence as an integrated society. At the same time, the Majjvara is totally dependent on the rest of her society for her survival. The hive intelligence basically depends on the number of Yvarema within the same general area. For gaming purposes, the hive intelligence affects an individual's Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma, according to the chart below. Any penalized statistic may never drop below 1. In any situation where an individual's Intelligence score drops below 8, he cannot use any skills other than Hide, Listen, Move Silently, Search and Spot.
The link that allows communication within the hive mind is based on two things: pheromonic communication and some sort of empathic connection. Although Yvarema are capable of empathic perception with other races, but it is not as accurate as with other Yvarema. They are able to identify the general emotions of those around them (i.e.: anger, happiness, fear, etc.) and are able to determine if the individual is friendly, indifferent or hostile with a successful Wisdom check (DC 12). The stronger the emotion is, the easier it is to detect (+1 to +4 bonus). Species Features: Varies by species type Automatic Languages: Basic and Yvaran |

Worker YvaremaThe worker class is the most common subspecies of Yvarema. The workers are neutrally-gendered bipeds that focus their skills on tasks of physical labor, such as building, sanitation and simple maintenance. The workers even build droids, which are clockwork constructs with limited intelligence, and produce them in large numbers. So many have been built that the Majjvara has cut down the production of new workers.

Explorer-Scout YvaremaThe explorer-scout subspecies closely resembles the worker class, except that the explorer-scout is more slender, faster and have a fat-retaining hump on their backs to help sustain them on extended treks away from their community. Although they have less perceptive tactile senses, they do have low-light vision to aid them in such conditions. Their empathic link can be maintained over longer distances than the worker class. The explorer-scout can usually be found in the wilderness area of Yvara exploring and searching for additional food and resources to be gathered by the workers.

Lore Gatherer YvaremaThe lore gatherers are the ones that serve as the scholars and librarians for the Yvarema. With the exception of the Majjvara, they have the longest lifespans. The lore gatherers are easily recognized by their enlarged craniums. Due to their larger brains and enhanced mental faculties, they also have enhanced empathic sensitivity. Since they are highly valued in their society, the lore gatherers keep themselves in deep underground chambers in order to avoid the pain and threats regularly faced by the workers and explorer-scouts, separated from everyone else until they are needed.

Royal Explorer YvaremaThe fourth subspecies of Yvarema, known as the royal explorer, consists of a limited number of individuals originally designed to be a deep space explorer. As Yvareman technology advanced to the point where they could reach the stars, they discovered that their empathic nature proved to be more of a liability than they originally expected. Instead of slowing or stopping their space program, the Majjvara created only twelve royal explorers. She gave them stronger personalities and a buffer programmed into their brains to prevent an extreme intelligence loss in case they stray too far from their homeworld. In game terms, a royal explorer's Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma scores can never drop below 6, even when alone.
