AC1 Surveillance Droid

AC1 Surveillance Droid

The AC1 Surveillance Droid is a direct descendant of the wall-mounted surveillance holocams located in innumerable security installations throughout the galaxy, the primary difference being that the AC1 is mobile and somewhat intelligent.

Designed to be a mobile surveillancy platform, the AC1 is programmed to quietly wander within the bases and security installations searching for intruders. While it moves about, the droid transmits holographic displays of what it sees, which is usually monitored by a security officer.

The droid has a limited intelligence and will normally follow a set of instructions, typically scanning the base's corridors according to the information input by the security officers. In addition, the droid can also be remotely controlled with a joystick by the security officer monitoring the droid's transmissions.

Whenever the droid locates an intruder or anything else it does not recognize, a warning message is sent back to its controller before it goes into hiding. Depending on the circumstances, the controller will take control and either send the droid in for a closer look or continue to keep it hidden.

Beyond scanning and transmitting the results, the AC1 is not capable of anything else. They have no facilities available to them to mount any additional equipment. In combat, they are practically useless except as observers. In addition, the AC1 has no inherent personality and will gladly venture to its own destruction if so ordered by its controller.
