Maddie Macatten is considered to be a crazy old being. She is an old Bith trader that spends her time traveling to the various worlds and colonies of the Kathol Outback in her rundown ship, the Scupper Bantoo, selling them replacement machinery parts and luxury items.

Maddie is eccentric to say the least. She talks to herself on a regular basis, rarely finishing a sentence, and constantly humming Bith folk tunes.

Her personal goal to occupy her copious spare time is to find the hidden Aing-Tii homeworld. Maddie was enslaved on Kal'Shebbol and freed when her master was killed by an Aing-Tii ship while on a trading expedition. Due to this one act, she has become obsessed with finding them to thank them properly. During her travels, she has acquired quite a bit of information on the Aing-Tii, and she may be willing to share some of that information with people that show some sympathy. Much of her information is wrong, but a hint of truth may lie underneath.

Maddie actually knows about the world that shelters the Star Dragons (Shatuun), but she probably won't even mention it until she has rambled for at least an hour and everybody has stopped believing anything she says.
