Ghests are reptilian predators that evolved on the planet Rodia. Ghests are aquatic by nature, spending most of their time underwater hunting large fish and other creatures that catch their attention. They have wicked claws, razor-sharp teeth and a skeleton made up entirely of cartilage, one aspect of their anatomy that sets them apart from most other predators. This permits them to be more flexible and move much more quickly through the water than other predators of similar size.

Ghests are notoriously vicious creatures, known for ripping their prey apart, even while the poor victim is still alive. Surprisingly, the bloodthirsty Rodians fear to hunt them unless there is a very good reason. This mindset goes back to ancient Rodia, when it was not uncommon for a single ghest to invade a primitive village and eat every living Rodian male, female and child before destroying the village. Even though the Rodians’ technology has increased their chances of survival when facing off against the loathsome creature, an innate fear still exists within the minds of most Rodians today.
