|Born in the Duros community on Nal Hutta, Torlin Kellos grew up learning from both Duros and Hutt societies. His parents served one of the more prominent Hutts: his father was a pilot, and his mother was a servant. Torlin spent a lot of time with his father during flights between Nal Hutta and other Hutt worlds that their master wanted to travel to. While planetside, he spent a lot of time learning economics from Xara Min, a female Twi'lek accountant serving the same Hutt that had taken a liking to the young Duros.
As Torlin was reaching adulthood, Xara secretly embezzled enough money to purchase his freedom through a fake buyer and a ship on which he could leave. Taking advantage of the situation and vowing to eventually return to free her, Torlin left Nal Hutta to seek his own way. He chose Coruscant as his first destination, where he could take out a loan and become a merchant. Successfully securing a loan, he purchased cargo, hired a small crew and began buying and selling goods in the Mid Rim and Expansion Regions.
Torlin has been selling his merchandise for a few years now and is starting to make a name for himself on a number of worlds as a decent merchant. Despite good profit returns, he doesn't get much money to himself after paying his crew, maintaining the ship and purchasing more cargo to sell. However, he is slowly saving up enough money to purchase his parents' and Xara's freedom from their Hutt master.
