Mordin Tel

Mordin Tel was born on the Mid Rim planet of Rodia in a low-income housing area designated for offworlders. Growing up near the lights of the casinos and all-night bars of the big city, Mordin was aware of a larger galaxy away from the slums and wanted to partake of it. He vowed at an early age to grow up and move off Rodia to a better life.
Upon reaching the age of 17, Mordin left home and signed onto a merchant ship leaving port as a cargo handler. Little did he know that the merchant was actually smuggling weapons for the Rebellion. Mordin stayed with the "merchant" for a few years, helping him sell his wares and aid the Rebellion against the Empire.
During a shipment to a Rebel base on Dantooine, the ship Mordin was on was seized by Imperial Customs. On the verge of being arrested for smuggling, the Imperial ship was attacked by a Rebel fleet awaiting the arrival of the supplies. Freed by the Rebellion, Mordin decided to change his career to that of a soldier against the Empire.
Mordin put his skills to work for the Rebellion as a pilot, technician and soldier, and he served faithfully for several years, including participating in the Battle of Hoth as a footsoldier.
Late in the war against the Empire while on patrol away from the fleet, Mordin encountered an Imperial Star Destroyer in deep space. Not wanting to lead it back, Mordin fled in another direction away from the fleet and drew the Star Destroyer away. Unfortunately, Mordin was never able to return to the fleet before losing his starfighter at a starport on Sullust for not being able to pay the docking fees.
Mordin resorted to mercenary work to try to raise the funds to buy back the ship. After a few successful jobs, he was able to purchase the fighter and began a search for the fleet. Within weeks of beginning his search, the Empire was defeated at Endor. Feeling that he wasn't needed anymore, Mordin began working as a bounty hunter.
After taking a few more jobs, Mordin began investing in equipment for his new career, including a suit of armor that he modified to meet his needs and a better ship that he named the Blackstar.
Mordin is willing to work for just about any employer, but some consider him a secret supporter of the New Republic. Despite that fact, he always finishes the job he has taken regardless of the target.
