Jarok Garand

The son of a wealthy merchant on Chandrila, Jarok longed for a life of adventure. Discontent with trying futilely to learn bookkeeping and to take over the family business, he ran away from home at the age of 17 aboard a freighter heading for the Outer Rim Territories.
  Finally arriving at a world called Nar Shadda, Jarok was discovered while some cargo was offloaded. Kicked off the ship, he wandered the streets for a few days, until he met up with an Ithorian navigator that was starcharting for his herdship. The Ithorian, named Tralda, and his partner, a Duros named Reefa, taught Jarok about astrogation and how to fly a starship.
  Jarok traveled with Tralda and Reefa for six months, when the ship was attacked by a slaver ship. Tralda and Reefa were killed in the attack, but Jarok was taken alive and imprisoned with several others to be sold on the black market as slaves.
  A few weeks later, Jarok staged a revolt and escaped with four others that he befriended while on board. Making their way to the world of Malastare, they learned of the Emperor's recent death at Endor and met up with an older man named Ikirra Josten. Ikirra, seeing the potential in this group, convinced them to band together and hire themselves out as mercenaries-for-hire. The Xyber Corps, named after a predator on the planet Ithor, was created. The group named Jarok their leader, since he was responsible for leading them to freedom.
  Jarok leads the corps with a firm hand and believes in not telling anyone to do anything he is not willing to do himself. Jarok considers himself as much of a mercenary as any of the others and is willing to work to get any job done.
