Dak Gribson

Born 25 years before the Battle of Yavin IV on the remote world of Dellalt in the Tion Cluster, Dak Gribson started off life with an impoverished family. His parents managed to obtain a fair sum of money through illegal channels and booked passage to a better life on Corellia.

Growing up on Corellia gave young Dak the opportunity to interact with a number of different cultures and learn various languages, which he picked up quite easily. Growing up on Corellia also gave the young man an insatiable thirst for gambling, and he spent most of his spare time playing various games of chance with his friends by sneaking into local casinos and other gaming establishments.

Upon reaching the age of 17, Dak was able to gain employment as an interpreter for a Corellian politician and eventually became one of his aides. He worked on the official's staff for 13 years, and he spent most of his off time at the casinos. In fact, gambling seemed to be the only thing he enjoyed doing while away from work, and he became very good at it.

When he saw a chance to work for the New Republic, Dak jumped for it. He was hired as a language specialist by NR Intelligence and was assigned to accompany the crew of the Smiling Sarlacc, with whom he still travels.

Dak is recognized by the leaders of the New Republic as one of the Heroes of Mon Calamari for his actions in saving the homeworld of the Mon Calamari from the Empire's World Devastators.
