Saurtons are a reptilian race native to the world of Essowyn. They tend to have a greenish-colored scaly skin, small eyes slightly sunken near the top of their squat head and a long snout with sharp teeth spaced unevenly near the front of their mouth.

Their homeworld is dominated by several large mining corporations, which support a coalition of Saurton groups called the Des'mar. The Quenno, another confederation of groups that wish to have the mining corporations removed, openly oppose the Des'mar and often lead protests against the Des'mar and the mining corporations, which is further evidence that Saurtons are highly aggressive and eager to fight. It is no wonder that they are not very well liked by most other species.
